This winter, TOP Hotel Hochgurgl invites guests to enjoy a stay in one of the Alps’ most elevated settings, as the hotel opens for the 2026/27 season on 18 November 2026.
Perched at 2,150 metres in Austria’s highest non-glacial ski area, TOP Hotel Hochgurgl, combines direct ski-in/ski-out access with panoramic mountain views, extensive wellness facilities, nine restaurants and bars, including a Sun Terrace offering Alpine snacks and drinks from lunch to sundown.
Accessed via a short flight from London to Innsbruck (approximately 1.5 hours), guests then take a scenic 90-minute transfer to the resort.
The hotel sits directly on the slopes of the Obergurgl-Hochgurgl ski area, with the nearest ski lift just 20 metres away from the hotel, allowing guests to click into their skis and head straight onto the mountain. And with around 112 kilometres of groomed pistes, the resort is an ideal escape for skiers seeking reliable winter conditions throughout the season.
Rooms
With its 71 rooms and suites combining timeless elegance with panoramic mountain views, extensive wellness facilities and exceptional dining, TOP Hotel Hochgurgl offers a rare kind of alpine escape – one where the mountain feels entirely your own.
Recently awarded two prestigious MICHELIN Keys, TOP Hotel Hochgurgl was founded in 1961 and beautifully reimagined in 2022, featuring individually designed rooms and suites, each framing sweeping views over the Otztal Alps. Family-friendly options include spacious suites sleeping up to six, while the standout Kaiser Suite is a retreat in itself, with two bedrooms, a generous living area, and a private sauna and pool to unwind in after a day on the slopes.
Wellness
At the TOP Mountain Spa, guests are invited to slow down and simply breathe after a day on the mountain, with over 2,000 square metres dedicated purely to relaxation – indoor and outdoor pools, panoramic saunas, quiet lounges and restorative treatments designed to melt away every trace of the day’s adventure.
New for 2026/27, the spa has partnered with Austrian natural cosmetics brand Vinoble Cosmetics this 2026/27 season to introduce a range of indulgent, grape-derived vegan skincare treatments – including the Vine Light Longevity Facial and Grapevine Rebalance Ritual – designed to restore glowing, healthy skin at altitude.
Dining
The hotel will welcome new Head Chef Frédéric Kempf for the 2026/27 winter season, ushering in a delicious new culinary chapter. There are nine food and beverage outlets offering a broad choice of culinary experiences.
The hotel’s bar offers a relaxed setting throughout the day, and the sun terrace – positioned directly beside the slopes – provides panoramic views across the Ötztal Alps and a setting for drinks and dining between runs.
For a classic après-ski experience, the Schirmbar, located directly on the piste just below the hotel, serves drinks and Alpine snacks throughout the ski day.
Wine is also central to the dining experience, with the hotel’s cellar housing more than 500 labels, including a wide selection of wines from Austria, Germany, Italy and France, as well as rare bottles to enjoy in the bar.
Corporate Groups
For corporate groups, TOP Hotel Hochgurgl offers an unusual Alpine setting for meetings, incentives and team events, with flexible spaces for up to 35 guests, personalised event planning and the opportunity to combine focused business sessions with skiing, spa time and exceptional mountain dining. With the slopes directly outside the door, it’s a setting designed to bring teams together both in and out of the meeting room.
