British Airways has launched special menus to celebrate this month’s Diwali and Thanksgiving festivals.

On 12 November Club World customers on flights from Heathrow to Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Delhi will be offered the eastern Indian delicacy Rasmalai, while World Traveller Plus passengers can opt for the north Indian sweet Kesar Peda, and World Traveller customers will be offered Indian dessert Motichoor Laddoo.

Meanwhile passengers on inbound services from India will also be offered Diwali-themed desserts including Kaju Pista, Gulab Jamun, Khoye Ka Laddoo and Doodhi Halwa.

Later this month BA will celebrate Thanksgiving on flights to and from the US, with dishes including roast turkey and pumpkin pie being offered on 23 November.

There will also be treats provided in the carrier’s lounges to celebrate both festivals, including rogan josh, chicken balti and samosas between 12 and 15 November, and turkey and smoked ham pie on 23 November.

In other news BA will introduce new hot light bite breakfast options on all shorter inbound flights from the US to Heathrow and Gatwick later this month, and says it has recently launched new main course options in World Traveller.

The carrier has also introduced Johnnie Walker Blue Label XOrdinaire as an option in its First cabins, with the whisky having been specially chosen by BA’s Master of Wine.
