Emirates has announced plans to expand its services to London Heathrow during the winter season.
With anticipated demand for travel, the airline will operate an additional five flights per week, providing enhanced connectivity to Dubai and beyond. This move comes as Emirates continues to see sustained market demand across its network, highlighting its commitment to meeting the needs of customers in the UK and the surrounding region.
The additional flights to London Heathrow will be operated by a three-class Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, offering first, business, and economy class options. Starting from 31 October 2023 until 30 March 2024, the new service will operate on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, complementing the existing six daily A380 flights to the London hub. This expansion will provide travellers with more flexibility and options to plan their journeys.
Flight schedules for the new service are as follows:
- EK41: Departs Dubai at 1320 and arrives at London Heathrow at 1720.
- EK42: Departs London Heathrow at 2015 and arrives at Dubai at 0715 the following day.
Richard Jewsbury, Emirates divisional vice president in the UK, expressed his excitement about the increased connectivity and opportunities this expansion brings, stating, “As we gear up to the peak travel season this winter, we’re pleased to offer customers enhanced connectivity to Dubai and onwards to popular destinations such as India, the Maldives, Bali, and Australia. We continue to see sustained market demand across our network and look forward to welcoming our customers from London and the surrounding region onboard Emirates.”
Emirates currently serves the UK with an impressive 126 weekly flights, showcasing its strong presence in the region. In addition to the new services to London Heathrow, the airline operates various flights to other key UK airports. This comprehensive network ensures that travellers across the UK have convenient access to Emirates’ global destinations.
In other exciting news, Emirates has recently provided an update on the rollout of its premium economy seating. The airline plans to offer this new cabin class on flights to 13 cities by the end of the year. This addition will provide passengers with yet another option to enhance their travel experience, combining comfort, spaciousness, and a range of amenities.
