Atlas House, a rare Grade II listed Georgian office block on Cheapside, is set to become the Square Mile’s newest upscale boutique hotel, following planning permission granted by the City Corporation.

Located at the junction of King Street, Queen Street, and Cheapside, this iconic building will soon cater to business travellers and visitors seeking luxury in London’s financial hub.

The 104-bedroom property will be developed by Blue Orchid Hospitality, part of the Integrity International Group, under the leadership of Tony Matharu. The hotel promises an array of premium amenities, including a destination restaurant, cocktail bar, health club, spa, pool, gym, and public workspaces. Its transformation marks an exciting addition to London’s hospitality scene.

Acquired by Integrity for £34.55 million in 2024, Atlas House boasts rich architectural and historical significance. Built in 1836 in the Italianate style, the structure features intricate design elements such as a clock and sculpture of Atlas above its grand entrance, mahogany joinery, mosaic flooring, and iron balustrades. It was originally constructed for the Atlas Assurance Company, which occupied the site for 130 years, and underwent restoration following wartime damage.

Once a serviced office space, the building will be reborn as a unique hotel, blending heritage with modern luxury. This development is set to enhance London’s world-class offering for travellers and professionals alike.
