Since June 2025, the Hopper Hotel St. Josef in Cologne has been part of the international WorldHotels Crafted collection, which unites independent, creative hotels with a strong design focus under the umbrella of BWH Hotels.
The listed hotel in the Severinsviertel combines historical character with modern facilities: 65 individually furnished rooms, works of art by young artists, a breakfast restaurant in a restored chapel as well as a sauna and fitness area in old vaults offer guests an extraordinary ambience.
Thanks to its central location close to the Rheinauhafen, the chocolate museum and optimal public transport connections, the hotel is aimed at both business guests and city travellers. “WorldHotels Crafted allows us to maintain our individuality and at the same time benefit from the worldwide distribution network,” say Felix Herfurth and Christoph Nüesch of LFPI Hotels. Marcus Smola from BWH Hotels Central Europe emphasizes: “A great hotel with an artistic concept and a strong personality – a real enrichment for our collection.”
Character, creativity and comfort in Cologne’s Südstadt
The Hopper Hotel St. Josef impresses with its stylish combination of listed substance and contemporary design. Housed in a former crèche from 1891, the house was elegantly staged with high-quality materials, natural stone bathrooms, oak parquet flooring and walnut furniture. Particularly noteworthy are the original sculptures from the Münster Art Academy, which characterize each room and the public areas. The historic chapel serves as an extraordinary breakfast room, complemented by a green terrace in the courtyard.
With its location in the culturally lively Severinsviertel, the hotel is not only a retreat, but also a starting point for discoveries – and thus embodies the philosophy of WorldHotels Crafted: unique, locally inspired, artistically sophisticated.
