Iberia has significantly expanded its WhatsApp services for travellers flying to selected destinations.
Passengers can now check in and receive their boarding passes via WhatsApp when travelling on domestic flights, as well as to European Schengen destinations, the UK, Ireland, Chile, Peru, and Uruguay. This addition complements existing features that allow users to review reservation details and receive flight notifications. Soon, passengers will also be able to make payments through WhatsApp for services such as purchasing additional luggage allowances.
Dedicated WhatsApp channels have also been introduced for Iberia Plus Platinum, Infinita, and Infinita Prime members, enhancing the personalised experience for premium customers. This development follows a similar move by Air France, which last year launched a 24/7 WhatsApp customer service channel featuring the Louis chatbot and live representative assistance.
In a move to further enhance passenger satisfaction, Iberia has revamped its long-haul inflight menus. Business class travellers can look forward to dishes like octopus marinated in orange and paprika, while premium economy passengers can enjoy braised beef cheeks on a white bean mousseline. Economy class offerings include homemade meatballs in romesco sauce. Additionally, economy and premium economy passengers will be treated to Magnum ice creams and a new hot sandwich before landing.
For a limited period from 1 July to 31 December, Iberia Plus Platinum, Infinita, and Infinita Prime members will receive a Cabify voucher for their journey to the airport, adding another layer of convenience to their travel experience.
