IHG Hotels & Resorts has moved into co-branded banking for the first time in the UK, partnering with Revolut and Visa on two debit cards that let travellers earn IHG One Rewards points on everything from their morning coffee to their next hotel stay.

Available to customers from 30 June 2026, the new UK co-branded debit cards are designed to speed up the way IHG One Rewards members earn points and climb the loyalty tiers, unlocking extra benefits with every transaction rather than only when they check in.

The tie-up brings together IHG’s portfolio of more than 7,000 hotels and resorts across 21 brands in over 100 countries with Revolut’s financial platform and its global base of 75 million customers. It also marks IHG’s return to UK co-branded cards after its previous arrangement with Creation ended in 2023, and lands at a moment when Revolut is flexing its new status as a fully licensed UK bank, having secured its full banking licence and launched as a bank in March 2026.

Two tiers, two earning structures

The Revolut debit cards, powered by Visa, come in two tiers. Both accelerate point earning on stays at IHG Hotels & Resorts worldwide and help members reach reward nights and elevated tier status more quickly, opening up perks such as room upgrades, early check-in and reward night discounts. Cardholders can also unlock more Milestone Rewards through Elite Night Credits.

IHG x Revolut Essential, a no annual fee card, includes:

  • Automatic IHG One Rewards Silver Elite status
  • One point for every £1 spent at IHG hotels, and 0.5 points for every £1 of non-IHG spend
  • Five Elite Night Credits to support faster progression through the programme
  • One Elite Night Credit for every £4,000 of total spend, plus 5,000 bonus points for spending £1,000 anywhere in the world in the first three months
  • A one-off £10 issuance cost for those who want a physical card

IHG x Revolut Elite, a monthly paid plan with an elevated earning structure, includes:

  • Automatic IHG One Rewards Platinum Elite status
  • Up to six points for every £1 spent at IHG hotels
  • Up to three points for every £1 of non-IHG spend internationally, and up to 1.5 points for every £1 of non-IHG spend in the UK and Europe
  • Fifteen Elite Night Credits
  • One Elite Night Credit for every £4,000 of total spend, plus exclusive extras from food and beverage rewards to flex-night certificates
  • A £18 monthly fee, with Diamond Elite status, the highest tier of IHG One Rewards, reached automatically after £35,000 of annual total spend

Cardholders also gain the benefits Revolut already offers, including fee-free spending overseas, low-cost international fees and the ability to spend in more than 150 currencies. Members can upgrade to additional paid tiers to enhance those benefits further.

Launch offer runs to 25 august

To mark the launch, customers who sign up before 25 August 2026 will receive increased earning potential. Essential customers will collect 5,000 bonus points, plus a further 5,000 points for spending £1,000 in the first three months. Elite customers will receive a 20,000-point welcome bonus and an additional 10,000 points for spending £3,000 in three months, with the ability to earn up to nine points for every £1 spent at IHG hotels in select markets for a limited time.

The launch comes as hotel groups and airlines increasingly compete for UK wallets through points-earning debit cards, a category that has drawn a wave of new entrants as banks and travel brands chase everyday spend.

Paul Proctor, SVP, Global Loyalty & Partnerships at IHG Hotels & Resorts, called the move “a first for IHG in the UK, and a game-changer for our members”. He said: “By bringing together IHG One Rewards, Revolut and Visa, we’re giving our members more ways to earn IHG rewards from every card tap, whether that’s their morning coffee or their next hotel stay. It means reaching elite status faster and unlocking more of what they love. With 21 brands globally and Revolut’s borderless financial platform, we’re building a smarter, more rewarding journey for today’s globally minded traveller.”

Tara Massoudi, General Manager, Premium at Revolut, said: “At Revolut, we are always looking to provide tailored financial experiences that bring maximum value to everyday spend. This partnership will make it effortless for IHG One Rewards members to turn ordinary taps of their card into premium hotel perks, elite status and unforgettable stays, all powered by Revolut.”

Rob Cameron, Group Country Manager UK & Ireland at Visa, added: “Consumers increasingly want their everyday spending to deliver greater value, and this partnership between IHG Hotels & Resorts, Revolut and Visa does exactly that. By combining seamless digital payments with compelling loyalty rewards, we’re making it easier for people to turn daily purchases into meaningful travel experiences.”

The launch is the latest in a run of loyalty plays from IHG, which has recently expanded earning options through partnerships including its PAYBACK tie-up for members in Germany and an integrated loyalty programme with Qatar Airways. It also follows the group reaching one million open rooms worldwide.

Customers can sign up for the IHG One Rewards x Revolut debit cards from 30 June 2026 via the IHG website.
