Queensway Group has cleared a significant hurdle in its central London growth strategy after securing planning permission for two new hotel developments under its Point A Hotels brand, adding a combined 341 keys to the capital’s business travel inventory.

The approvals cover a 236-key property close to Monument station in the City of London and a 105-key scheme on High Holborn in the London Borough of Camden. Both sites will see existing office buildings repositioned into design-led hotels, in a move that underscores the group’s conviction that well-located but underperforming commercial stock can be unlocked for hospitality use.

The two projects sit in postcodes that rank among the most tightly supplied in London for quality budget-led accommodation. Monument offers direct access to the City’s financial core and the DLR, while High Holborn provides a strategic foothold between the West End, Midtown and the legal quarter, locations that have consistently outperformed on midweek corporate demand.

Queensway said the dual consent reinforces the momentum behind its active central London development pipeline, with the group continuing to deploy capital into planning-led acquisitions and repositioning opportunities in supply-constrained urban markets.

Ryan McWaters, Development Director at Queensway Group, said the approvals were consistent with the group’s acquisition thesis. “These approvals reflect our continued focus on unlocking value through well-located assets in central London, including planning-led repositioning opportunities,” he said. “We are actively deploying capital into similar opportunities and selectively identifying sites where clear value can be unlocked.”

Once delivered, the two hotels will expand Point A’s London footprint at a time when corporate travel buyers are increasingly turning to the brand’s pared-back, design-conscious product to manage rate inflation across the capital without compromising on location.
