Sea Containers London has introduced four new “Cabin Suites”, each designed to evoke the golden eras of cruising.
The hotel has collaborated with Vinterior, a pre-loved marketplace, to source antique and vintage furnishings that bring a distinct character to each suite.
The newly unveiled Edwardian, Art Deco, Mid-Century, and Dynasty Cabin Suites have been curated by Jacu Strauss, creative director of Lore Group, with a focus on period authenticity and immersive design. Each suite features era-specific books curated by Phaidon, while the hotel’s award-winning Lyaness bar has crafted exclusive bottled cocktails inspired by the four time periods.
The Edwardian Cabin Suite transports guests to the early 1900s, when luxury cruise travel first flourished. The space is adorned with an antique mahogany leather-top desk, an upholstered walnut armchair, and a marble-topped floor lamp, creating an atmosphere of refined elegance.
The Art Deco Cabin Suite embraces the bold aesthetics of the 1930s, featuring Swedish walnut bedside tables, a restored floor lamp with built-in tables, and a striking Art Deco sofa and armchair set.
For lovers of mid-century design, the Mid-Century Cabin Suite offers a sleek yet inviting retreat, furnished with a Danish powder blue sofa and armchair, Italian mid-century wall lights, and a Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe chrome leather chair.
Finally, the Dynasty Cabin Suite channels the extravagant glamour of the 1980s, boasting a Maralunga Sofa by Vico Magistretti, a Cursava Muebles lucite and glass coffee table, and an antique ceramic floor lamp.
Strauss describes the suites as nostalgic yet open to interpretation, aiming to transport guests into a glamorous transatlantic cruise experience rather than simply offering a home away from home. The redesign prioritises comfort, immersion, and a sense of escapism, ensuring each suite delivers a unique and memorable stay.
With this latest addition, Sea Containers London continues to blend heritage with contemporary luxury, offering guests a chance to step into the past while enjoying modern hospitality.
