Opened in 2011, The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto is a modern neomodern glass tower, standing 53 stories tall. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and Page and Steele, the building exudes understated elegance, blending contemporary aesthetics with classic luxury. Walking into the grand lobby, guests are greeted with a spectacular design touch – the rich maple leaf motif embedded in the flooring, a subtle yet striking homage to Canada. The elegant space is further elevated by the piano, its melodies adding an air of refinement to the welcoming atmosphere.
The Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge and Rooms
Opting for the Executive Floor transforms the stay into a heightened luxury experience. The Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge, exclusive to floor guests, provides a private retreat with a sophisticated atmosphere and personalized service. The lounge is a perfect escape from the buzz of downtown, offering complimentary refreshments, curated snacks, and evening hors d’oeuvres, alongside a dedicated concierge team available for bespoke travel arrangements. Whether unwinding with a cocktail or catching up on emails in a serene setting, this space effortlessly caters to both relaxation and productivity.
The hotel boasts 263 rooms and suites, each designed to offer a blend of residential warmth and refined elegance. 20 floors makeup The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto and the remaining floors consist of The Ritz-Carlton Residences. My room on the 20th floor included The Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge access was set in muted brown tones and mood lighting which created an inviting ambiance, pairing understated luxury with thoughtful detailing. Floor-to-ceiling windows framed an amazing view of the Toronto skyline, adding a sense of grandeur to my experience.
A particularly delightful touch was the Diptyque toiletries stocked in the marble-clad bathroom – a refreshing and indulgent way to wind down after a long day of business meetings or just exploring. The spacious deep soaking tub and rainfall shower added to the lavishness, making the daily unwind a ritual to look forward to.
Culinary Experiences:
Dining at Epoch Bar & Kitchen Terrace was a highlight. The restaurant’s commitment to showcasing local flavours was evident in the beautifully presented selection of appetizers, each a masterpiece of taste and texture. This was more than a meal – it was an experience designed to indulge the senses.
Lunch at TOCA continued the theme of exceptional dining. The atmosphere blended upscale elegance with laid-back charm, making it the perfect setting for a midday escape. The menu was well-curated, featuring bold Italian flavours with a refined twist – exactly what you’d expect from a Ritz-Carlton culinary experience. Unfortunately, I was not able to visit the infamous cheese cave as this was being renovated but this of course means I will have to return!
Spa – My Blend by Clarins: A Jet Lag Revival
The Spa My Blend by Clarins was an absolute game-changer for post-flight fatigue. Opting for the 90-minute Jet Lag treatment, I experienced a thorough scrub and deeply rejuvenating hot stone massage, facial and head massage. Designed to revive and energize, by the end, I felt refreshed and ready to take on the city with renewed vigour.
A particularly whimsical touch in the spa was the miniature tree adorned with fresh apples wellness bites pegged to its branches, a playful yet nourishing detail that added to the serene atmosphere. The carefully curated pick-me-up snacks in the relaxation area further elevated the experience, ensuring an effortless transition into complete relaxation.
The hotel offers a premier setting for MICE, blending luxury with seamless functionality. The hotel features 15 sophisticated meeting rooms and can accommodate up to 600 attendees. Its elegant event spaces, cutting-edge technology, and dedicated planning services make it an ideal choice for corporate gatherings, executive retreats, and large-scale conferences.
