For more than 140 years, the Croatian island of Lošinj has lured travellers with its clean air, sun-soaked coastline and reputation as “The Island of Vitality”.

Once a retreat for Austro-Hungarian aristocracy, today it remains a place where health, luxury and culture come together — and this autumn, the calendar of events makes it one of Europe’s most exciting destinations.

From September to October, Lošinj Hotels & Villas will serve as the perfect base for three flagship festivals: a spectacular showcase of classic cars, an international celebration of Mediterranean cuisine, and an entire month devoted to health and wellness.

Concour de Croatie & Croatian Car & Design Week (4–7 September 2025)

The season opens in high gear with the return of the Concour de Croatie and Croatian Car & Design Week, where some of the rarest cars in the world will be on display. Vintage classics line up alongside modern icons, offering a rare glimpse into the history and future of automotive design.

This year’s headline guests are two of the industry’s greats: Professor Peter Stevens, the designer behind the McLaren F1, Jaguar XJR-15 and Lotus Esprit, and Fabrizio Giugiaro, founder of GFG Style and a pioneer of modern car styling. Their appearance — alongside a McLaren F1 itself — promises a highlight for design aficionados and collectors alike.

Taste the Mediterranean Festival (11–14 September 2025)

Next comes the island’s debut hosting of Taste the Mediterranean, an international festival of food, wine and lifestyle. Held across Lošinj Hotels & Villas’ properties and Mali Lošinj, the event coincides with Kvarner’s recognition as European Region of Gastronomy 2026.

Guests can dine at Michelin-starred Alfred Keller, discover Greek-inspired innovation at Bava, or sample freshly caught seafood at Konoba Cigale on the water’s edge. With more than 400 sommelier-selected wines to taste, the festival is a true culinary journey through the Mediterranean.

MEDISOLA – Health and Vitality Festival (2–26 October 2025)

As autumn deepens, Lošinj embraces its historic reputation for wellness with MEDISOLA, a month-long festival dedicated to health and vitality. Rooted in the island’s unique “Kvarner Effect” — a natural phenomenon combining abundant sunshine, high air quality, salt aerosols and medicinal herbs — the festival blends science, medicine and holistic practice.

Six key themes shape the programme:

  • Medical excellence: specialist weekends with doctors in fields such as functional medicine, anti-ageing and stress prevention.
  • Events & talks: conferences and workshops on biohacking, longevity and beauty technology.
  • Spa & rituals: candlelit therapies, visiting practitioners and botanical aromatherapy.
  • Food as therapy: anti-ageing menus, fermentation workshops and “Dinner with a Nutritionist” experiences.
  • Outdoor vitality: forest bathing, sunrise breath meditations, Nordic walking and paddleboarding.
  • Community engagement: educational initiatives for schools, residents and visitors alike.

The festival begins with a two-panel conference, “The Healing Power of Lošinj – Through Experience and Science” and “Lošinj as a Space for a New Tourism Paradigm”, setting the tone for a month that blends cutting-edge medical insight with traditional wellbeing practices.

Why Lošinj this autumn?

Whether you’re an automotive enthusiast, a food lover, or a wellness seeker, Lošinj’s autumn season offers a rare combination of events in one idyllic location. With luxury pool villas, five-star hotels and a Mediterranean climate extending well into October, it is the perfect stage for this trio of world-class festivals.

As Lošinj Hotels & Villas put it: “Lošinj: where health and vitality are not trends, but a way of life.”
