American Airlines has launched a new lounge concept at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT), introducing The Provisions by Admirals Club.
Located in Concourse A next to Gate A1, the lounge is open daily from 06:15 to 20:45 and focuses on a grab-and-go service designed for passengers with limited time between flights. Instead of traditional lounge seating and dining, travellers can pick up packaged meals, snacks and drinks to take away.
Food and drink offering
• Breakfast service runs from 06:15 to 11:00, with items including pastries, yoghurt, fruit and cooked meal boxes.
• All-day menu, available until 22:45, features options such as a roasted Mediterranean cauliflower bowl, salmon and kale salad, chicken and quinoa wrap and a charcuterie snack box.
• A drinks counter offers canned and bottled beverages to go.
Heather Garboden, chief customer officer at American Airlines, said: “We’re excited to open this new lounge space for our customers at CLT. Millions of customers travel through CLT on American every year and the Provisions by Admirals Club lounge is focused on providing those customers with an easy and convenient solution during their travel journey.”
One of the first to use the lounge was Travelling for Business Managing Editor Richard Alvin who said: “the new lounge is a step-up from previous offerings and a breath of fresh air against many of the other lounge options and a clear enhancement to the American Airlines business travel offering.”
Access rules
Entry to The Provisions by Admirals Club follows the same policies as traditional Admirals Club lounges:
• Admirals Club members flying domestically.
• International travellers with eligible AAdvantage status on qualifying flights.
• Citi/AAdvantage Executive credit card holders.
• oneworld status holders with qualifying flights.
The new format reflects a growing trend among airlines to adapt lounge services for time-pressed passengers who value speed and convenience over extended stays.
