Luxair is entering a new chapter with the assembly of its very first Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, the inaugural step in a long-term fleet renewal programme.

The aircraft is now in the final stages of production at Embraer’s facility in São José dos Campos, Brazil, and is scheduled for delivery to Luxembourg before the end of the year. Passenger operations are expected to commence in January 2026.

The upcoming arrival of the E195-E2 lays the foundation for Luxair’s ambitious fleet renewal strategy. With six firm orders and options for three additional aircraft, Luxair is securing the flexibility to strengthen its network across Europe while aligning with the airline’s long-term ambitions and the needs of its customers.

Gilles Feith, CEO of Luxair, said: “The arrival of our first E195-E2 will mark a milestone for Luxair and for Luxembourg. It combines sustainability, efficiency and greater comfort for our passengers, while also introducing our refreshed brand identity – a strong statement about our ambitions for the future.”

The Embraer E2 family is recognised for its efficiency and quiet operation, offering significant reductions in fuel burn and noise footprint compared to previous-generation aircraft. It is ideally suited to Luxair’s network and will bring a new level of comfort to passengers thanks to its spacious 2-2 seating layout and quieter cabin.
