The ideal time to explore major destinations such as Rome and Florence is off-season when visitors can enjoy the city without the pressures of high season travel.

This Autumn, highlights from Rocco Forte Hotels include Hotel de Russie’s Tiber and Foliage river experience in Rome

Hotel de Russie, a Rocco Forte Hotel, marks the 2025 autumn with a thoughtfully curated itinerary “Ottobrata Romana”. During the ideal season to visit Rome, thanks to its mild climate, guests have the chance to explore the Eternal City from a private vintage river boat, for a different perspective on the rhythms of local life.

Tiber and Foliage – One of the best ways to experience the beauty of Rome in autumn is by gliding along the Tiber aboard a 1960s-era boat. Meticulously restored by a master shipwright and transformed into a veritable floating lounge, the boat is exclusively available to guests staying in Hotel de Russie’s Forte Suites. Set against a backdrop of golden foliage and crisp autumn light, the cruise offers a unique perspective of the historical centre, passing centuries-old bridges and ancient buildings, and offering delightful views of Castel Sant’Angelo and St Peter’s Dome.

Irene Forte Spa – Hotel de Russie | Autumn sees the olive tree taking its rightful place as a key component of the Olive Oil Body Ritual, a soothing, rejuvenating treatment designed to nourish, moisturise and revitalise the skin. The treatment unfolds in two steps – it begins with an exfoliating scrub enriched with olive leaves, followed by the application of organic oil sourced from Verdura Resort, a Rocco Forte Hotel in Agrigento. The oil’s potent nutrients are absorbed through a warm compress, with the treatment culminating in a full-body massage using Irene Forte Skincare products.

Le Jardin Restaurant | Under the creative direction of Fulvio Pierangelini, autumnal flavours take centre stage at the restaurant set in the historic garden of Hotel de Russie. Seasonal creations celebrate local ingredients such as mushrooms, seasonal vegetables, pumpkin and pomegranate, paying homage to autumnal culinary traditions and flavours.

Bar Stravinskij| The experience continues with an exclusive cocktail creation by Bar Manager Mattia Capezzuoli and his team. Inspired by autumn’s warm, enveloping notes, Moonflare is a milk punch-style cocktail crafted with Wild Turkey 101, Disaronno and a hint of salted caramel. Served in an Old-Fashioned glass, it exudes deep, mellow flavours that perfectly capture the spirit of the season.
