Princess Cruises has confirmed a series of enhanced seven-night Western Mediterranean itineraries aboard its newest ship, Sun Princess, for 2026 and 2027.

Sixteen voyages, departing between April 2026 and October 2027, will introduce new ports of call in France, Spain and Italy, as well as an overnight stay in La Spezia.

The £2.2bn Sun Princess, one of the line’s flagship vessels, will offer expanded itineraries featuring Palma de Mallorca, Ajaccio (Corsica), and Santa Margherita/Portofino, while Ibiza has also been added to select sailings. To accommodate these enhancements, Gibraltar will be removed from the programme.

Highlights include:

  • Corsica (Ajaccio) – Guests can visit the childhood home of Napoléon Bonaparte or explore the renowned A Cupulatta Tortoise Sanctuary.

  • Ibiza – Beyond its nightlife, excursions will showcase the UNESCO-listed Dalt Vila, as well as local gastronomy in rural Can Curreu.

  • Santa Margherita/Portofino – Excursions range from Cinque Terre explorations to hands-on pesto-making classes along the Ligurian coast.

  • Palma de Mallorca – Travellers can enjoy a vintage train ride through the Tramuntana Mountains, historic olive mills, or exclusive vineyard tastings.

As part of Princess Cruises’ ‘More Ashore’ programme, select itineraries will feature an overnight stay in La Spezia, giving guests more time to explore Florence, Pisa and Tuscany.

Princess Cruises said the refreshed itineraries are designed to immerse travellers in the region’s culture, cuisine and landscapes, offering deeper experiences that go beyond traditional shore excursions.

By combining shorter-haul ports such as Ibiza with cultural capitals like Genoa, Marseille and Florence, the line is positioning Sun Princess to appeal to both seasoned cruisers and new guests seeking a blend of luxury, leisure and local immersion.

All itineraries are now on sale, with departures between Barcelona and Civitavecchia (Rome).
