Germany is home to scenic landscapes and charming cities, making it the perfect wedding destination.
The use of wedding hashtags has become extremely popular, especially in modern times, as many couples use them to share their special day on social media. They are not only a great way for couples to share their special day with a broader audience, but tagging different destinations can also give brides and grooms-to-be inspiration for their own wedding.
One destination that has been prominent in the wedding world is Germany — home to stunning landscapes and rustic charm, making it the perfect wedding destination.
To uncover the most popular wedding locations, Diamonds Factory took to Instagram to analyse hashtags with each German city, along with the word ‘wedding’, ( ie. #berlinwedding), to reveal the most instagrammed wedding city.
Berlin
The stunning capital of Germany, Berlin, secured the top spot as the most loved-up city, with the hashtag #berlinwedding appearing in 110K posts.
The team spoke exclusively to Zoe Burke, leading wedding expert and editor of wedding planning website Hitched, who shared her thoughts on why the capital is loved by newlyweds, and it’s not just due to its well-known name…
“Not only is Berlin one of the coolest places in the world, it’s also one of the most LGBTQ+-friendly, making it a great choice for both straight and same-sex weddings. Germany legalised same-sex marriage in 2017, and Berlin is now home to a welcoming, inclusive wedding industry.”
“Berlin is known for its creativity and individuality, so if you want to host a wedding that’s a little bit different, you can have your pick of unconventional settings. Couples can choose from quirky venues like art galleries, trendy warehouses, or even some incredible parks and gardens.
“With its mix of historic and modern architecture, Berlin offers some truly unique backdrops for wedding photos too. From world-famous Museum Island, the romantic Viktoriapark in Kreuzberg with its babbling waterfall, or even the graffiti-covered walls of the East Side Gallery, wedding photos from around the city will be conversation starters for the rest of married life.”
“Plus, your guests will love Berlin! The city is rich in history, art, and nightlife. From visiting the Brandenburg Gate and Berlin Wall to exploring the vibrant underground club scene, there’s something for everyone.”
Munich

Renowned for its vibrant port and trendy entertainment district, couples can choose to have their wedding reception at a scenic waterfront venue. Then switch up the vibe and keep the celebration going on all night, immersing themselves in the lively entertainment scene.

If you have the pleasure of staying in this city till the next day, why not book a romantic evening walking through Stuttgart’s charming Old Town? It’s the perfect way to end a special milestone.
