JdV by Hyatt is swapping nightcaps for flat whites this summer, teaming up with Austin lifestyle brand The Mushroom Cowboy to launch The Skyline Spin, a four-city series of morning DJ events on hotel rooftops across the United States.

The series opens on Saturday 27 June at Hotel 50 Bowery in New York during Pride weekend, with the 229-room downtown tower’s rooftop bar, The Crown, hosting the first event against the backdrop of the Manhattan skyline. Subsequent dates take in The Barnett in New Orleans’ Warehouse Arts District on 25 July, tommie Austin’s rooftop pool and bar during Austin Pride on 22 August, and a coastal finale at Mission Pacific Beach Resort in Oceanside, California, on 12 September. All events are free with an RSVP and open to the public while space allows.

The activation extends The Mushroom Cowboy’s signature Morning Spin format, a daytime blend of specialty coffee, DJ sets and wellness-led social culture rooted in Austin’s creative scene, and marks the brand’s first national hotel collaboration. It also taps into the fast-growing appetite for alcohol-free daytime socialising, with so-called coffee raves emerging as a global alternative to traditional nightlife among younger, wellness-minded consumers.

“The JdV by Hyatt brand has always been about celebrating the culture that makes a city and all of its unique little pockets worth visiting, and what The Mushroom Cowboy has created with The Morning Spin events perfectly embodies that spirit,” said Erin Lindsey, regional vice president of brand and marketing for JdV by Hyatt. “We hope that The Skyline Spin can be an event where our guests and local neighbours converge for a moment of joyful morning revelry fuelled by coffee, dance music and a unique shared experience.”

Ryan Robinson, founder and creative director of The Mushroom Cowboy, said the partnership was a natural fit. “The Morning Spin was always about creating a space where people could show up as themselves, connect over great coffee and music, and feel like they belonged somewhere,” he said. “These are hotels that are genuinely rooted in their neighbourhoods, and that’s the only kind of place we’d want to take The Skyline Spin.”

The tie-up is the latest move by Hyatt to sharpen the neighbourhood credentials of its lifestyle portfolio, which has been expanding steadily, most recently with The Livingston, the first Hyatt-branded hotel in Brooklyn, joining the JdV by Hyatt collection. The group has also bolstered its lifestyle ambitions through its acquisition of Standard International, parent of The Standard and Bunkhouse brands, as it builds on momentum reflected in its strong first-quarter 2026 results and record pipeline.

For business travellers, the series offers a rare networking format that doesn’t revolve around an evening bar tab, and a reason to set the alarm early on a Saturday.
