Nestled in the southern reaches of Gran Canaria, Bohemia Suites & Spa stands as a sanctuary for adults, offering a vibrant bohemian vibe brimming with joy and vitality. This boutique hotel, a pioneer in the region since the early 70s, sits just steps away from the renowned Maspalomas beach.

In 2012, the Euling family took over the once-dilapidated Apollo hotel, a relic of the package holiday boom, and embarked on a journey to establish the area’s first new hotel in decades. While elevating the standard of construction, they preserved the original wooden staircase, a prized import from China, transforming the space into a kaleidoscope of luxury, colour, and psychedelic flair, aptly named “Bohemia” in tribute to its rejuvenated essence.

Bohemia Suites & Spa is an adults only haven of indulgence, with design elements that tantalize the senses. Its rooms exude a funky retro chic ambiance, featuring open layouts, plush leather sofas, and a palette of bold, earthy tones. The hotel’s gourmet 360° restaurant and the serene lounge offer breath-taking panoramas of the Atlantic, the Maspalomas dunes, and the rugged interior mountains.

Each room boasts a flat-screen TV that doubles as an iMac and iPod docking station, alongside a sleek coffee machine for the perfect Italian espresso, and a chic black PVC wingback chair with dedicated lighting for reading. The studios come equipped with a kitchenette and a cozy balcony or terrace. The innovative design maximizes light and space, with accordion-style balcony doors that blur the lines between indoor and outdoor living, complemented by sliding sunscreens that offer shade at the touch of a button.

The Siam Spa, crafted by Bangkok’s P49 Deesign, is an oasis of tranquillity, infused with the aromas of lemongrass, ginger, and jasmine. Guests can unwind with steam baths, massages, and a vitality pool, complete with underwater music and an adjoining jacuzzi. The hotel also features two solar-heated pools, aptly named for the times of day they bask in the sun’s warmth.

Perched atop the hotel, the 360 restaurant is hailed as one of the island’s premier dining destinations. With stunning vistas, a cocktail bar, and live music, it’s the ideal spot for savouring the warm summer evenings.

The biannual menu, curated by chefs Juan Manuel Bertolin Fuertes and Mikel Portugal Redondo, is inspired by the elements of air and sand, reflecting the rich heritage of the Canarian archipelago.

The true essence of Bohemia Suites & Spa lies in its team’s exuberance and meticulous attention to detail, ensuring an exceptional stay for every guest.

Gran Canarias, a gem of diverse towns, flavours, music, art, and architecture and home to this exquisite retreat, it’s an experience that stays with you, long after you’ve returned home
