The Lake Country House Hotel is a luxurious retreat surrounded by the serene beauty of the Welsh countryside.

Originally built as a hunting and fishing lodge in 1840.  It has undergone some remodelling over the years.  Epitomising a blend of architectural cultural styles from mock Tudor to colonial verandas and French windows.  During the early 20th Century, it served as the only barium spa resort outside of Germany visited by Kaiser Wilhelm II to sample the Welsh hospitality.   Today barium is not used in health treatments due to the toxic nature of some compounds.

The interior exudes timeless elegance. The vintage staircase leads to sumptuous suites and bedrooms adorned with fine antiques, paintings, and luxurious furnishings. Guests can choose from various room types from doubles to suites all uniquely designed and furnished to meet the high standard expected of a luxury spa hotel, some with views of the lush grounds and surroundings. The hotel has a no smoking policy but there is a designated area should you wish too.

The Kingfisher spa is a peaceful oasis offering a range of beauty treatments, 15m indoor pool, gym, sauna, and outdoor hot tub on the balcony overlooking the lake.  With game fishing and golf available onsite there are also other golf course in the area.  Not far from the Elan Valley and position halfway between the Brecon Beacons and Snowdonia.  Nearby visit Clyro Castle and Cefnylls Castle.

The restaurant and bar serve modern Celtic cuisine all locally sourced and they pride themselves on the extensive selection of wines.  Enjoy afternoon tea in the drawing room or on the lawn taking in the sights of the rhododendron lined pathway.  With attentive staff who are always there with a warm welcome to help you whether its relaxation you seek or an outdoor adventure.

The Lake Country House Hotel offers a blend of history, elegance, and natural beauty. Whether you’re seeking relaxation, fine dining, or outdoor adventures, this Welsh retreat ticks all the boxes.
