Nestled in the heart of Southeast Asia, Cambodia is a destination that offers an enchanting blend of rich history, vibrant culture, and breath-taking landscapes.

From the majestic ruins of Angkor Wat to the bustling streets of Phnom Penh, Cambodia is a country that should be included on your bucket list.

Why You Should Go:

Cambodia beckons with its timeless allure, where ancient temples stand as a testament to a glorious past. The warmth of the Cambodian people, coupled with the country’s natural beauty, makes it a compelling destination. Whether you’re an adventurer, a history buff, or a food enthusiast, Cambodia has something to offer everyone.

What to see and do:

The crown jewel of Cambodia is without doubt Angkor Archaeological Park. Home to the iconic Angkor Wat, this UNESCO World Heritage site is a sprawling complex of temples that will leave you in awe. You also have the serene faces of the Bayon Temple and also the tree-root entwined Ta Prohm made infamous by Tomb Raider.

Phnom Penh, the nation’s capital, offers a stark contrast with its dynamic blend of tradition and modernity.  Must visits whilst there, The Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda and Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum which provides a poignant look at the country’s turbulent history.

Explore further and head to the southern islands such as Koh Rong and Koh Rong Sanloem with its crystal clear waters and fantastic beaches.  For those who like to hike head towards the Cardamom Mountains with its untouched beauty.

What to Eat:

Cambodian cuisine offers a delightful exploration of flavours. Amok, the national dish featuring creamy coconut fish steamed in banana leaves, and Kuy Teav, a breakfast noodle soup, are must-tries. Bai Sach Chrouk, grilled pork served with rice, is another staple, and no visit is complete without savouring the Kampot Pepper Crab. Renowned for its distinctive flavour, Kampot pepper is often referred to as the “champagne” of peppers.

What It Is Like There:

Cambodia is a land of contrasts, where the past and present coexist harmoniously. The cities pulse with energy, while the countryside unfolds with tranquil rice paddies and sleepy villages. The climate is tropical, with a monsoon season that brings lush greenery to life. Despite its tumultuous history, Cambodia today is a country of hope and resilience.

Cambodia is an experience that captivates the soul. It’s a place where every visit enriches the spirit and leaves you yearning for more.
