Cleveland will become Metropolis in the July 2025 to coincide with the release of Superman, and which showcases some of the city’s most iconic locations.
Cleveland’s transformation into Metropolis will be used by the city to highlight its architectural beauty and ‘underscore its significance in Superman history’.
It embraces film locations with :
- the Leader Building standing in as the exterior of the Daily Planet.
- Key Tower becoming the headquarters for the fictional Stagg Enterprises.
- The Cleveland Arcade providing a setting for a romantic kiss between Superman and Lois Lane beneath the historic glass ceiling.
- Progressive Field, home of the Cleveland Guardians baseball team, hosting an explosive action sequence.
- Cleveland City Hall transforming into Metropolis’ City Hall.
- Detroit–Superior Bridge featuring in a high-intensity confrontation.
- Ontario Street and the former Cleveland Greyhound Station seen as part of fast-paced street scenes.
- PNC Plaza offering urban visuals
- Terminal Tower appearing in sweeping skyline shots of Metropolis.
Cleveland is located along the southern shore of Lake Erie and across the Canada/United States maritime border.
