The best surfing in Europe returns to Tenerife next week. From 22 November to 8 December, Playa de Las Américas, on the southern coast of the island, will host a new edition of the Spring Surfest Las Américas Pro.
The best surfers from the continent will gather at an event, sponsored by Tenerife Tourism Corporation, and jointly organised by the European Surfing Federation, the Spanish Surfing Federation, and the Canary Islands Surfing Federation.
Tenerife, the largest and most diverse of the Canary Islands, is renowned as one of Europe’s premier surfing destinations, offering world-class waves and a vibrant surf culture. Tenerife’s diverse coastline provides a variety of surf spots suitable for all skill levels. Playa de Las Américas, where the event will take place, is famous for its consistent swells and excellent surfing conditions, attracting surfers from around the globe. The island’s warm climate and year-round sunshine make it an ideal location for surfing throughout the year.
Spring Surfest Las Américas Pro, which combines sport, culture, social activism and environmental protection, has established itself as one of the best events in Europe. This edition will extend up to 17 days, its longest duration to date, hosting up to four official competitions with the expected participation of over 300 surfers from all over Europe.
Las Américas Surf Pro Eurocup will kick off the competition from 22 to 28 November, and will crown the male and female European Surfing Champions. In addition, it will be the final event of the National Open Surfing Circuit, proclaiming the champions of the SurfingES League and the Iberdrola League. Organised by the European Federation, the Canary Islands Federation and the Spanish Surfing Federation, the event will feature over 150 riders aged between 15 and 35.
The event will continue with Las Américas Pro Junior Championship, in which the best national riders will compete in the under-16 and under-18 categories. This is an official event, valid for both the national and Canary Islands circuits, taking place from 29 November to 1 December, and organised by the Canary Islands and Spanish Surfing Federations.
From 2 to 6 December, the third edition of Las Américas Pro Euromaster Open of Surfing will take place. Simultaneously, the Spanish Masters Championship will be held, where the highest-ranked male and female Spanish surfers in the Euromaster will be crowned champions.
For the third consecutive year, the youngest participants will be responsible for bringing the festival to a close. From 4 to 8 December, a new edition of Eurokids will take place, a championship that will bring together the best European talents competing in the under-10, under-12, and under-14 categories, with the European title in these categories at stake.
Registrations for the competition are now open and can be completed through the event’s official website until 21 November:
