After a four-month transformation, Shandrani Beachcomber has reopened its doors on the southeast coast of Mauritius, unveiling a refreshed experience that blends contemporary luxury with the island’s natural charm.
Overlooking the crystalline waters of Blue Bay Lagoon, the resort’s relaunch signals Beachcomber Resorts & Hotels’ ambition to meet evolving guest expectations while staying true to its heritage.
The renovation has reimagined Shandrani’s spaces with a focus on comfort, privacy, and design inspired by the island itself. Guests will find rooms that echo the colours and textures of Mauritius: tranquil sea blues and coral accents in the new Tropical Rooms, lush greens and floral motifs in the Tropical Ground Rooms, and indulgent touches in the Rooftop Rooms, which feature private wooden decks, open-air showers, and jacuzzies.
A highlight of the revamp is the introduction of ‘Shandrani for Two’, an exclusive adult-only wing comprising 69 rooms with access to a private beach, beachfront bar, and dedicated dining area. Designed for couples and professionals seeking tranquillity, it offers a discreet retreat ideal for incentive travel or executive escapes.
Dining has also been elevated. The resort’s Le Grand Port restaurant now accommodates nearly 300 guests, with cosy booths and secluded nooks that balance intimacy with scale. An upgraded service station ensures efficiency while preserving the relaxed atmosphere that defines the Beachcomber brand.
For business travellers, Shandrani’s reopening offers more than leisure. Its blend of wellness, privacy, and connectivity makes it a compelling venue for corporate retreats, incentive programmes, or simply a restorative break between meetings. By aligning with global travel trends and introducing spaces tailored to different guest needs, Beachcomber has positioned Shandrani as both a romantic escape and a versatile hub for business travel.
Nightly rates start from £219 on a half-board basis, opening the door to a new era of island hospitality where luxury, nature, and practicality converge.
