The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort has confirmed the return of its Tastemaker Series for 2026, reinforcing its position as one of the Maldives’ most culturally driven luxury resorts and a magnet for internationally recognised talent.

The annual programme brings together influential figures from the worlds of gastronomy, fine wine, mixology, wellness and sport, offering guests immersive, small-scale encounters designed to go beyond traditional resort entertainment. Now firmly established as a hallmark of the St. Regis Maldives experience, the Tastemaker Series continues to blend creative excellence with meaningful personal engagement.

Culinary and mixology highlights

The 2026 season opens in January with acclaimed Italian chef Gianluca Renzi, who will host a series of wine-led dining experiences alongside an intimate gnocchi masterclass and a signature dinner set against panoramic Indian Ocean views. His residency sets the tone for the year, combining classical Italian technique with contemporary flair.

February brings a focus on cutting-edge beverage craftsmanship as Felice Capasso, World Class Global Bartender of the Year 2025, takes over The Whale Bar. His programme includes a bar takeover and a masterclass exploring storytelling through spirits, flavour composition and creative expression.

April sees the arrival of Michelin-starred British chef Glynn Purnell, whose modern British cooking will be showcased through a signature dinner, an interactive cooking class and a finale experience at The Whale Bar. Known for pairing technical precision with warmth and personality, Purnell’s appearance marks a fitting culmination of the culinary strand of the series.

Wellness and sport on the island

Wellbeing also plays a central role in the 2026 programme. From 9 to 23 February, Japanese wellness practitioner Akiko Igarashi returns as Visiting Practitioner, offering Reiki, sound healing and bespoke restorative sessions. Her programme includes Tibetan Singing Bowl journeys, individual treatments and tailored couples’ experiences designed to promote emotional balance and deep relaxation.

In March, world-class sport takes centre stage as former World No. 1 and multiple Grand Slam champion Angelique Kerber joins the lineup. Her residency includes private coaching sessions, children’s clinics, on-court interactions and informal meet-and-greet events, bringing elite tennis insight to guests of all ages.

The series continues into May with Spanish tennis icon Feliciano López. A former World No. 12 and Grand Slam doubles champion, López is renowned for his longevity on the ATP Tour and record-breaking consecutive Grand Slam appearances. His curated sessions focus on advanced technique, movement and match intelligence, delivered in a relaxed island setting.

A defining resort signature

Vincent Pauchon, general manager of The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort, says the series reflects the resort’s broader philosophy. “The Tastemaker Series is more than a programme; it is a celebration of passion, artistry and human connection. Each year, we aim to create experiences that feel personal and enriching, offering our guests access to exceptional talent alongside fresh perspectives and inspiration.”

With its 2026 edition, the Tastemaker Series continues to evolve as a defining element of the St. Regis Maldives offering, positioning the resort as a destination where cultural exchange, creativity and luxury hospitality converge.
