Uber FOR bUSINESS

Introducing Andrew Laughlan, Head of Enterprise at Uber for Business, who brings a fresh perspective to corporate mobility exploring how tech-integrated travel solutions are reshaping the way professionals move and work.

Travelling for business is not always easy. Moving from location to location when working comes with additional stresses that are tiring. So, at Uber for Business, we’re taking steps to reduce the strain of travel.

Our aim is to make business journeys more pleasurable. We are doing this by making the process of ordering transport and food much easier. To achieve this, we have designed several travel tools and services that simplify your experiences.

To access these, all you have to do is open the same Uber app that most people already have on their phones. You just need to swipe over to your business profile and, if you have linked this profile to your employer’s account, you’ll immediately be able to see several advantageous features.

You’ll be able to book a variety of comfortable vehicle options, enjoy the privilege of priority bookings and have the ability to reserve trips – so you’ll always have drivers waiting when you need them. The availability of enhanced customer support will also help to reduce any worries. This can be especially helpful if you ever leave personal items behind in a vehicle when going from place to place.

Integrating with other travel and expense tools

The benefits don’t end there, however. Uber for Business also allows you to connect with other popular travel support tools, such as travel and expense platforms SAP Concur, Expensify, Coupa and the ISOS Travel Tracker. These integrations are great news as they remove the administrative burdens placed upon travellers.

For example, travellers no longer need to worry about keeping hold of receipts – as expenses can be automated. This saves the average business traveller around 40 minutes per month – time that was previously spent filing travel expense claims.

These technical integrations also allow your employer to monitor your safety – and fulfil their duty of care obligations – as you travel through different regions.  In addition to these safety benefits, your organisation can also track your emissions in order to monitor progress towards Net Zero goals.

Uber for Business is committed to providing more sustainable travel options and is also capturing data that makes carbon accounting easier. This is helping organisations measure their environmental impact and produce ESG reports.

Sustenance on the go

Another important integration that helps to make travel easier is Uber Eats. It’s not easy to eat well when you are in an unfamiliar location. So, if you are staying in a new city or hot desking at a company branch office, it makes sense if you can order online and have a good meal brought to you.

It can also be reassuring to know if you’re ever arriving at your accommodation late at night that you won’t need to venture out into unknown surroundings when it’s dark outside.

Our Uber Eats integration provides a simple and safe sustenance solution by allowing you to order food to your location and have the expense receipts automatically sent to your employer.

We’ll continue to integrate services like this as we look to remove the frictions commonly endured when travelling – and make each experience that bit easier and enjoyable for you.
