The first seven redesigned Four Seasons Sayan suites have opened to guests in Ubud, the opening instalment of a sustainability-led refresh that Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan announced in March 2026.
Five Premier Duplex Suites and two Premier Family Suites make up the release, each framing the Ayung River valley through floor to ceiling windows. The interiors were created with Hirsch Bedner Associates, behind a scheme that pairs the resort’s suspended rice bowl architecture with hand loomed textiles and locally made detailing. Colour palettes borrow from the views, with pale earthy tones drawn from Ubud’s rice terraces grounded by dark stained teak.
For anyone booking the property on a work trip, the useful detail in the Four Seasons Sayan suites is the separation of space. Integrated smart living technology, including LUTRON lighting, is built in rather than bolted on, and the two storey layout keeps a working day away from the bedroom.
What do the new Four Seasons Sayan suites offer?
The Premier Duplex Suite runs to 85 sq m (900 sq ft) across two levels, with a light washed dining and living area on the lower floor, a bedroom layered in teak and hand loomed fabric above, and a private sun terrace. That footprint counts on longer trips. A lower floor that can take a laptop and a video call, with an upper floor that stays a bedroom, is a more workable arrangement than a single room with a desk in the corner.
The second of the new Four Seasons Sayan suites, the Premier Family Suite, puts a purpose built children’s room at the centre of the plan rather than adapting an adult space, and sits in the main building within reach of the restaurants and the Sacred River Spa. Few properties in the area build a children’s room in from the start. For employers whose staff extend a trip into leave, or bring family out at their own cost, that is the layout that makes the extension practical.

Refurbished rather than rebuilt
Rather than rebuilding, the resort optimised and refurbished the existing framework, which it says cut demand for new materials sharply. Where new materials were needed, they were chosen for longevity and sourced locally wherever possible. Next generation air conditioning uses environmentally responsible refrigerants and the lighting is energy efficient LED. Those are details that now reach procurement teams, with a growing number of firms reporting on the footprint of accommodation as well as flights.
“These suites represent everything Sayan has always stood for, pioneering design in profound harmony with nature,” says Four Seasons Resort Bali General Manager Didier Jardin. “The new suites enhance that connection. Waking up in one of them, with the river below and the valley all around, is a uniquely Sayan experience. This is a new era for Sayan, and we can’t wait to share it.”
