Eurostar will add Antwerp as a new direct stop on its London–Amsterdam route from 14 December, creating a faster and more convenient link between the UK and Belgium’s second‑largest city.
The move expands Eurostar’s Belgian network just ahead of the festive season, offering up to four trains a day that will now include Antwerp alongside existing stops at Lille-Europe, Brussels-Midi, Rotterdam-Centraal and Amsterdam-Centraal .
The new service will operate direct on the outward journey only, with trains running from London St Pancras to Antwerp without the need to change . Eurostar confirmed that a direct return service is not currently possible because Antwerp-Centraal lacks dedicated UK border and customs facilities, which are required for departures back to Britain .
Passengers travelling from Antwerp to London will instead connect via Brussels-Midi, where UK border and security checks take place. Eurostar will offer a combined SNCB–Eurostar ticket to streamline the connection and maintain a smooth travel experience .
Eurostar says the addition of Antwerp will make journeys “quicker and more convenient,” giving travellers a more comfortable city‑centre to city‑centre option during one of the busiest travel periods of the year.
The new stop forms part of Eurostar’s broader strategy to strengthen cross‑border connectivity and expand its footprint across northern Europe ahead of 2027’s planned fleet and route developments.
