Aethos announces five new boutique hotel openings in Europe, backed by $100 million in funding. New destinations include Sardinia, Madrid, Lisbon, Rome, and Mallorca.
Aethos, the boutique hotel and member club brand known for its experience-led approach, has unveiled plans for five new openings over the next two years. This expansion is supported by $100 million in funding from a consortium of investors led by Limestone Capital. To facilitate this rapid growth, Aethos is also bolstering its leadership team with key executive appointments.
Following the successful launch of Aethos Ericeira on Portugal’s Silver Coast, the brand is set to open a 60-key resort on Sardinia’s Costa Smeralda in May 2024. Additional openings in Madrid, Lisbon, Rome, and Mallorca are scheduled for 2024 and 2025.
Aethos has appointed Marc Lores, formerly Group Director of F&B Operations for Six Senses, as Vice President of F&B. Lores will enhance the brand’s food and beverage offerings. Reza Kalatarian, previously General Manager at Soho House Berlin, joins as VP of Membership, focusing on enriching the exclusive Aethos Club experience across all destinations.
“We’re not just another boutique hotel brand,” says Benjamin Habbel, co-founder and CEO of Aethos. “Our vision is to create spaces that become an integral part of the traveller’s journey—an immersive and enriching experience that lingers in the memory long after the stay. With €100 million in funding and a strong executive leadership team, we are not only reshaping the hospitality landscape but also setting new standards for boutique hotels in Europe.”
