Aman strengthens its footprint in the Caribbean with Amancaya, an exclusive retreat in the Exumas, developed in partnership with Swiss entrepreneur Dona Bertarelli.
Luxury hotel brand Aman is expanding its presence in the Caribbean, with the upcoming launch of Amancaya, an ultra-luxury resort and branded residences set across two of the Exumas’ most secluded private cays in The Bahamas.
The name Amancaya, meaning ‘peaceful island’ in Taíno, encapsulates the retreat’s promise of tranquillity and exclusivity. The project is being developed in partnership with Swiss investor, philanthropist and sportswoman Dona Bertarelli and will feature an impressive array of amenities, including a marina, beach club, Aman Spa, and multiple dining venues across the two islands.
Vlad Doronin, Chairman and CEO of Aman Group, calls the development a significant milestone for the brand: “As one of the most coveted locations in the destination, Aman guests have long requested our presence in The Bahamas. Through our collaboration with Dona Bertarelli, we have found an unrivalled setting for exclusivity and natural beauty, and I’m delighted to introduce the Aman lifestyle – from unparalleled service, privacy and transformative experiences to The Bahamas.”
Dona Bertarelli adds: “Aman is a purpose-driven company globally renowned for its timeless elegance and bespoke experiences. I’m delighted to have found a partner to thoughtfully bring this vision to life in an exceptional location. Guests of Amancaya will be able to enjoy the same sense of discovery and personal connection with the local community and culture that I have experienced in Exuma, all while immersed in its unmatched natural beauty.”
Aman currently operates 35 hotels, resorts, branded residences and private clubs across more than 20 destinations—15 of which are within or close to UNESCO Heritage Sites—offering guests unrivalled seclusion, wellness and design excellence.
Committed to sustainability, Amancaya aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and is set to achieve LEED certification, ensuring environmentally responsible construction and operations.
Developed with the involvement of Squircle Capital, Amancaya is currently under construction and will become Aman’s third Caribbean property, joining Amanera in Rio San Juan, Dominican Republic, and Amanyara in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos.
