Aman has confirmed that Amanvari, its highly anticipated Mexico resort on the East Cape of Baja California Sur, will officially open on 1 August.
Set on a secluded stretch of coastline where desert, sea and estuary meet, the property brings Aman’s signature blend of privacy, nature and refined design to one of the most untouched corners of the Baja peninsula.
Meaning “peaceful water” in Sanskrit, Amanvari sits within the Costa Palmas community, a 1,500‑acre estate featuring organic orchards, farms and three miles of swimmable shoreline. Elevated, palm‑shaded and beachfront Casitas form the heart of the resort, designed to blur the boundaries between indoors and out. Picture windows, open‑air terraces and sand‑toned interiors frame views of the Sea of Cortés and the surrounding desert landscape.
Guests will have access to a wide range of experiences, from snorkelling and diving in the Sea of Cortés to hiking and horseback riding in the Sierra de la Laguna mountains. The Costa Palmas estate also offers orchards, farms and expansive shoreline for exploration, reinforcing Amanvari’s positioning as a gateway to Baja’s wild, natural beauty.
Dining spans Japanese and Italian concepts – Sesui and Arva – alongside Luma, which showcases Baja’s coastal traditions through open‑fire cooking. A laid‑back lounge completes the culinary offering, designed for cocktails and relaxed evenings overlooking the water.
Amanvari’s spa will feature six private treatment rooms, two Hydro Houses with banya and hammam, a 24‑hour fitness centre and a contemporary temazcal, all inspired by the elemental harmony of land, ocean and sky. The wellness programme aims to offer “quiet transformation” through purification and reconnection with the surrounding landscape.
The resort is located less than an hour from San José del Cabo International Airport (SJD), with dedicated FBO services and a private terminal ensuring seamless transfers. Helicopter access is also available for guests seeking direct arrival on the East Cape.
Amanvari is now accepting reservations ahead of its 1 August opening, marking Aman’s latest expansion in the Americas and strengthening its presence in Mexico’s luxury hospitality landscape .
