Business travellers heading to Laos have a new address in the capital after Avani Hotels & Resorts opened the 197-room Avani+ Lanexang Vientiane Hotel on Fa Ngum Road, overlooking Chao Anouvong Park and the Mekong River.

The property is the brand’s second in the country, following Avani+ Luang Prabang, and arrives seven months after Minor Hotels first announced the Vientiane project as part of its push to strengthen the Avani footprint in Southeast Asia. It follows a busy period of expansion for the brand, which recently made its debut in Bangkok’s new central business district with the Avani Ratchada Bangkok Hotel.

The timing looks shrewd. Laos is targeting up to six million international visitors this year, buoyed by the Laos-China Railway and improved regional connectivity, with arrivals up eight per cent in the first quarter of 2026 according to the country’s tourism authority.

Guestrooms and suites range from Deluxe Rooms to a Presidential Suite, with layouts designed to support both work and downtime. Clean lines, efficient space planning and warm contemporary detailing reflect the brand’s easy-going style, and the approach echoes the flexible, residential-leaning formats Avani has rolled out elsewhere through its Suite Escapes collection of multi-room villas, suites and residences.

The hotel is opening in phases, with a curated selection of rooms, dining, leisure and meeting facilities available from launch and further venues to follow in the months ahead.

Four dining venues will launch in stages. Mekong Mosaic, the all-day restaurant, opened on 1 July 2026 serving international comfort cuisine alongside Lao-inspired dishes, live cooking stations and flexible formats including in-room and poolside dining. Sabaidee Social, a Mediterranean-inspired tapas and bar concept with live entertainment, follows in Q3 2026, while The Pantry offers a relaxed cafe and co-working space with specialty coffee and grab-and-go options. Salongxay, a refined Thai-Lao restaurant with a strong wine programme, is scheduled for Q4 2026.

For the meetings market, Lanexang Hall can accommodate up to 320 guests, supported by additional meeting rooms and outdoor event spaces, with select facilities available during the first phase and the full offering to be introduced progressively. An outdoor pool and fitness facilities are open from launch, with AvaniSpa to be added as the hotel moves towards its full debut.

The property also supports Avani’s sustainability ethos through locally sourced ingredients, seasonal menus, support for local producers and artisans, and the reduction of single-use plastics where possible, Minor Hotels said.
