BizAway, an Italian-based travel management scale-up, unveils the 10 most frequented destinations for business travel on its platform. Among them, the capital of Spain is the first one, with Milan, Paris, and London also making the list.

BizAway, the Italian-based travel management scaleup with offices in Spain, Albania and Dubai has analysed recent booking trends, providing valuable insights into the evolving landscape of business travel. The platform, which recorded a +47% increase in accommodation bookings and a +57% rise in total bookings in 2024 compared to 2023, identified the most relevant European cities for business travel, based on the number of reservations.

Milan, Rome, and Madrid stand out as the three most popular destinations for business travellers. However, London, Paris, and Barcelona continue to play a central role in the corporate travel ecosystem, reaffirming their status as key business hubs in Europe. These data indicate that moving towards 2025, business travel remains strong and reinforces its role as a fundamental driver of economic activity across multiple industries.

“Europe continues to assert itself as one of the central hubs for business travel, together with the USA and China, and this is something that not only we observe in our platform but is also an objective aspect of the overall business landscape. This sustained demand highlights the irreplaceable value of in-person meetings and professional networking, even in an era of widespread digital transformation”, comments Luca Carlucci, CEO of BizAway.

Sustainable transports and corporate travel spending confirm the key role of business travel

Despite global debates about the future of corporate mobility, business travel continues to be an essential driver of international collaborations, securing new business opportunities, and strengthening client relationships with Europe remaining one of the most dynamic markets.

One of the key trends that are shaping the sector is the sustainable travel options. Companies are becoming more conscious of their environmental impact, driving a shift towards greener transportation choices. Indeed, BizAway has experienced a +60% increase in train bookings compared to 2023, a clear indication that businesses are prioritizing eco-friendly alternatives over traditional air travel, whenever feasible. Notably, among the cities, Madrid, Rome, and Paris have seen a rise in train bookings.

“As the business travel industry evolves, companies are expected to continue integrating technology, sustainability, and cost efficiency into their strategies. With demand staying strong and new digital solutions improving the travel experience, it is essential to focus on how we can meet these evolving needs, while addressing a sector that remains robust and dynamic”, concludes Luca Carlucci, CEO of BizAway.
