Global chauffeur company Blacklane has expanded its premium mobility services into Tunis and Nairobi, marking the brand’s first operational launch in both North and East Africa as it continues its international growth push.
Announced from Berlin on 17 November, the expansion brings Blacklane’s signature first-class service and professional chauffeur network to two of the continent’s most rapidly developing business and tourism hubs. The company already operates in South Africa and says this latest rollout is just the beginning of a wider African strategy.
René van Olst, CEO for EMEA & APAC at Blacklane, described 2025 as a “record-breaking” year for the business and said the move reflects both commercial demand and the company’s commitment to building strong local partnerships.
“Far more than adding dots to the map, we partner with local professional chauffeurs to connect them with international travellers booking via a trusted global brand,” he said. “Our expansion into Tunis and Nairobi is just the start of our roll-out across this rapidly evolving continent.”
In Tunis, Blacklane is launching its full portfolio of First, Business and Van classes, catering to both business and leisure travellers. The company says it expects strong demand for city-to-city travel, corporate events, conferences and tourism as Tunisia strengthens its status as a regional gateway.
In Nairobi, Blacklane’s first location in East Africa, the company is offering Business and Van services with a focus on airport transfers and by-the-hour chauffeur bookings. The city’s fast-growing mix of multinational companies, diplomatic missions and an expanding tourist industry make Nairobi a natural entry point for the brand.
Blacklane is now operational in more than 50 countries, providing premium, pre-booked mobility solutions for global travellers seeking a safer, more reliable and more luxurious alternative to conventional ride-hailing. The company says demand for high-quality chauffeur services continues to grow across Africa, driven by rising corporate travel, expanding tourism markets and a preference for trusted international brands.
