British Airways has announced a new collaboration with Thames Clippers, providing customers with discounted fares to London City Airport.
The river bus service, known as Uber Boat by Thames Clippers, operates across 24 piers from Putney Pier in the west to Barking Riverside in the east.
The closest pier to London City Airport is Royal Wharf Pier, which opened in 2019 and is just over a mile from the airport or a few stops away on the DLR. Passengers can enjoy a 25% discount on Thames Clippers tickets by using the code BALCY25 when travelling to or from London City Airport on the same day. Terms specify that passengers may need to show their British Airways boarding pass to qualify for the discount.
With the discount, fares start at £4.20 within the East Zone and £7.69 from central London. Additionally, passengers can enjoy a free hot drink at the onboard café by presenting their boarding pass.
Eastbound services to Royal Wharf Pier commence at 0604 on weekdays and 0944 on weekends, with the last services arriving at 2341 and 2351 respectively. Westbound departures begin at 0641 on weekdays and 0826 on weekends, with the final services departing at 2136 and 2056 respectively.
Tom Stoddart, CEO of BA Cityflyer, commented: “Flying from London City is not only convenient and quick but also allows our customers to truly experience the charm of our fantastic city. With the stunning views of the Canary Wharf skyline and the River Thames, this airport offers a unique travel experience. Our partnership with Uber Boat by Thames Clippers enhances the London journey for our passengers beyond the airport.”
