Brussels Airlines has introduced a brand-new Belgian Icon aircraft, unveiling a special “Tintin (Gravity)” livery on one of its Airbus A320s, registered OO-SNJ.
Revealed on February 12, 2026, the aircraft pays tribute to one of Belgium’s most iconic cultural exports, Tintin, the legendary comic book character created by Hergé. Inspired by the famous Moon adventures, the new design embraces a space theme, symbolising exploration, altitude and imagination — a natural fit for an airline.
The livery features Tintin floating in weightlessness alongside the Moon on one side of the fuselage, while Snowy and Captain Haddock appear on the other. A detailed Moon rocket is painted on the belly of the aircraft, creating a striking visual effect during take-off and landing. The background transitions from midnight blue to black, reinforcing the space atmosphere.
Inside the cabin, the theme continues with comic-style panels on the overhead bins depicting the rocket’s journey, accompanied by one of Hergé’s handwritten quotes: “By believing in his dreams long enough, Man turns them into reality.” Subtle space references are also integrated into the cabin design, including a digitally printed floor carpet.
OO-SNJ becomes the second Tintin aircraft in the Belgian Icons collection, following “Rackham” (OO-SNB), introduced in 2015.
With this latest addition, Brussels Airlines continues its tradition of transforming aircraft into flying ambassadors of Belgian heritage, art and creativity.
