Ground transportation platform Mozio has released new global research highlighting 46 business travel trends and statistics, offering insight into spending patterns, demographics, and the evolving priorities of corporate travel programmes.

The study reveals that 55% of business travellers view work trips as a perk, making their jobs more rewarding and engaging. Yet rising costs and shifting expectations are reshaping how companies and travellers approach the sector.

10 Key Business Travel Statistics for 2025

  • The UK will welcome 5.1 million business visitors, representing 16% of inbound trips and 19% of inbound spending.
  • Business travellers in the UK spend 15% more per day than holidaymakers (£184 vs £160).
  • Over one‑third of inbound business visitors are women attending conferences, exhibitions, and training.
  • The Amsterdam–London air corridor remains Europe’s busiest business route.
  • The US is forecast to be the world’s largest spender on business travel, with expenditures reaching $395.4 billion.
  • The bleisure market is set to grow from $933 billion in 2022 to $2.3 trillion by 2030, with 42% of UK travellers adding leisure days to at least one trip.
  • Gen X travellers report lower stress levels than Gen Z (43% vs 47%).
  • One in three companies will apply AI to travel programmes, from smart booking tools to automated support.
  • The average cost per attendee at meetings and events will rise to $168 per day in 2025, climbing to $172 in 2026.
  • More than one‑third of companies are adding sustainability measures to travel programmes, with 28% adopting new technologies to meet environmental targets.

Nicole Kerr, CEO of Mozio, said the findings highlight clear priorities for travel managers: “Statistics on their own are just numbers. The real value comes from how travel managers and partners apply them. The trends point to a set of priorities: keep costs under control, protect travellers, and adapt quickly to changing expectations.”

She added that rising hotel and transport costs make advance agreements and centralised booking more important than ever, giving companies that lock in partnerships early a competitive edge.

Mozio’s research underscores the challenges and opportunities facing corporate travel in 2025: balancing cost pressures with traveller wellbeing, embracing AI and sustainability, and adapting to the growing demand for blended business‑leisure experiences.
