The Sloane Club reopens in Chelsea following a £20m refurbishment, offering business travellers elevated dining, co-working, and accommodation in one of London’s most prestigious private members’ clubs.

One of London’s most storied private members’ clubs, The Sloane Club, has reopened its doors following a two-year, £20 million transformation. Located in the heart of Chelsea, just moments from Sloane Square, the club now offers a compelling proposition for business travellers seeking a refined, multifunctional base in the capital.

Founded in 1922 to provide accommodation for ex-servicewomen, The Sloane Club has long been a sanctuary for connection and culture. Now, under the stewardship of managing director Neena Jivraj-Stevenson and general manager Anna Jackson, the club has been reimagined for the demands of modern professionals. The redesign, led by Russell Sage Studio, blends heritage with contemporary elegance across dining, wellness, and workspaces.

For business travellers, the appeal is clear. The club’s new co-working hub, The Study, opens later this month and features soundproof booths, flexible meeting areas, and the ability to convert into a screening room—ideal for pitches, presentations, or private viewings. The Wren Room offers intimate private dining for up to 12 guests, while the newly launched Lila restaurant and bar, inspired by South-East Asian flavours, features a retractable glass roof for year-round entertaining.

Accommodation has also been upgraded, with 56 bedrooms and 10 suites available to members and their guests. Interiors are understated yet luxurious, with thoughtful amenities and a focus on comfort and discretion. The club’s concierge team is on hand to arrange everything from airport transfers to last-minute reservations, ensuring a seamless experience for those on the move.

The reopening also introduces a wellness suite and new dining concepts including Helena’s and the Demob cocktail bar, further enhancing the club’s lifestyle offering. The leadership team now includes Clare Lusher (formerly Birch Community and AEG Europe), Robert Rodier Gaggl (ex-Arts Club), and Alex Rich (formerly Birley Clubs), signalling a fresh direction rooted in hospitality excellence.

Owned by Queensway and Clearbell Capital, The Sloane Club is once again positioning itself as a cornerstone of London’s business and social scene. For professionals seeking a space that balances productivity with privacy, and tradition with innovation, the club’s revival offers a compelling new chapter in Chelsea hospitality.
