Claridge’s has unveiled its 2025 Christmas Tree — one of London’s most anticipated festive traditions — this year created by Burberry Chief Creative Officer Daniel Lee, who has brought his bold, modern aesthetic to the hotel’s iconic Art Deco lobby.
Standing 16 feet tall, the tree combines heritage craftsmanship with contemporary flair. Vibrant bows cut from surplus Burberry fabrics deliver a sustainable twist on Victorian symbols of unity, while wild foliage and thistles — a homage to Scotland and Burberry’s Highland heritage — weave through the branches. Brass bells inspired by the brand’s Equestrian Knight motif and hand-blown glass baubles add further refinement, all crowned by a gleaming gold topper.
At its base, oversized chess pieces and plush cushions create a whimsical scene, inviting guests to step into the festive display.
“Christmas is always the most magical time of the year at Claridge’s,” said Thomas Kochs, the hotel’s Managing Director. “This season we are honoured to welcome long-standing friend Daniel Lee into our lobby.”
To complement the installation, Burberry has opened a festive pop-up on the hotel’s ground floor. The space showcases signature outerwear and accessories, alongside a curated Scarf Bar featuring cashmere and silk designs in Burberry’s signature colours and checks. Heritage rainwear, leather goods and gift-ready collections complete the offering.
Claridge’s Christmas Tree will remain on display until 4 January 2026, anchoring the capital’s festive season once again. For Lee, the commission blends personal sentiment with brand storytelling.
“Being invited to design the hotel’s annual Christmas Tree is a huge honour,” he said. “I wanted to celebrate tradition and togetherness through vibrant colours and rich textures. Christmas is my favourite time of the year.”
