easyJet and easyJet holidays have unveiled a new summer initiative designed to tackle one of the most quietly stressful parts of travelling with young children: keeping track of their favourite cuddly companions.
The airline is partnering with Life360 to offer free Teddy Trackers to families flying from London Gatwick, Manchester, Edinburgh and Belfast, with trackers available at bag drop from 31 July while stocks last.
A small device tackling a big parental fear
The move follows research commissioned by the airline revealing that 87% of parents fear losing a child’s favourite toy while travelling, and 97% would feel more relaxed knowing they could track it via an app . The anxiety is well‑founded: almost two‑thirds (65%) of parents say their child has lost a comforter on holiday, and bedtime can become significantly harder afterwards—children take an average of six weeks to mourn a missing cuddly friend.
The Life360 Tile Trackers attach easily to soft toys, allowing parents to pinpoint their location in seconds—whether left behind at security or buried under a poolside lounger.
A summer of record family travel
The launch comes as easyJet prepares for its biggest ever summer, with more than 370,000 families set to fly with the airline and its holiday arm over the school break . With Life360 reporting over 40,000 toys tracked globally in the past year, the partnership aims to make family travel smoother and reduce the number of lost‑toy dramas mid‑holiday.
Why toys matter more than ever
The research highlights just how emotionally significant these companions are. A third of parents say their child’s favourite toy is considered a member of the family, and nearly 40% admit the toy regularly appears in family photos . Stuffed bunnies top the list of most commonly lost toys (26%), followed closely by teddy bears (25%) and dolls or action figures (15%)—with names like Bunny, Teddy, Fluffy and Billy dominating the nation’s toy registers.
Voices from the cockpit and the holiday desk
Stuart Wright, Customer Director at easyJet holidays, said the initiative is designed to make “the little things that make the biggest difference” easier for families, offering peace of mind during what should be an exciting time away.
Captain Matthew Clutterbuck—who previously helped reunite a teddy named Shackleton with its young owner after it was left onboard—added that favourite toys are “constant companions on every adventure,” and that the new trackers will help ensure these treasured items “can always find their way home”.
Life360’s Tom Rizzo said the partnership aims to help families “avoid teddy‑related disasters,” noting that the Tile trackers are theirs to keep for future adventures.
