With the August Bank Holiday fast approaching, easyJet and easyJet holidays have launched a new campaign designed for travellers who want a quick European getaway without using a single day of annual leave.
Branded ‘The Bank Holiday Loophole’, the initiative highlights a curated selection of 48‑hour escapes from regional airports across the UK, allowing travellers to fly out on Friday evening or Saturday morning, enjoy two full days abroad, and return with Bank Holiday Monday still to spare .
easyJet is operating over 800,000 seats from the UK across the Bank Holiday weekend — a 6% increase year‑on‑year — and offering 56 more destinations than last summer, including new routes to Preveza, Reus and Ljubljana . Packages start from £232pp, while flight‑only fares begin at £31.99 for select routes .
48‑Hour Escapes Across Europe
The airline’s short‑haul network makes quick weekend breaks possible from more UK regional airports than any other package provider, with travellers able to reach major European hotspots in under three hours . Popular destinations for fast turnarounds include Amsterdam and Paris, both topping demand for spontaneous city breaks this year .
Tony Hopkins, Trading & Development Director at easyJet holidays, said travellers are increasingly looking to maximise long weekends: “A short break offers the chance to switch off, explore somewhere new and enjoy great value — all without using a single day’s annual leave,” he said, noting the strong demand for Amsterdam and Paris breaks from regional airports across the UK .
