Emirates has further extended its meal pre-ordering service for business class customers.
The service was trialed on all flights between Dubai and London’s Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted airports this summer, and subsequently extended to European routes including Warsaw, Venice, Rome, Bologna, Prague, Vienna, Moscow, Istanbul, Dublin, Hamburg, St Petersburg, Brussels and Madrid.
It has now been rolled out to 92 routes globally, with 30 new destinations added including Riyadh, Jeddah, Delhi, Mumbai and Kuala Lumpur.
Emirates said that more than 10,000 pre-orders had been made on 3,000 flights since since the service went live, with more than 600 being made each day.
The most popular dishes for pre-ordering so far have been:
- pan-fried beef tenderloin with thyme jus, roasted new potato wedges and steamed asparagus
- grilled beef tenderloin with creamy wild mushroom sauce, Kenya beans and potato gratin
- Suffolk roasted chicken with black garlic and potato fondant
- cheddar cheese and chive omelette with creamy spinach, sauteed Portobello mushroom and roasted herbed tomato (breakfast option)
Business class passengers can pre-select their main course meal between 14 days and 24 before their departure, which Emirates said would ensure customers “they get their preferred choice every time”, as well as helping to reduce food wastage.
