Emirates has opened its new £10 million signature lounge at Manchester Airport’s Terminal 2 — a major investment that signals the airline’s long‑term commitment to one of its most important UK gateways.
The space introduces more than 50 design enhancements and a suite of productivity‑driven features tailored to today’s business traveller.
The lounge is divided into dedicated zones for work, dining, relaxation and private quiet spaces, allowing travellers to structure their pre‑flight time with purpose. Every seat offers wireless charging and universal power access, while Italian eco‑leather seating, herringbone floors and Emirates’ signature scent create a refined, calm environment for working on the move.
For business travellers managing tight schedules, the lounge offers one standout operational advantage: direct boarding from lounge to aircraft, a feature exclusive to Emirates at Manchester Airport. It removes the usual gate‑area congestion and gives premium passengers a seamless transition from laptop to take‑off.
Wellbeing has also been built into the design. Travellers can decompress in upgraded shower suites with VOYA amenities, unwind in a Quiet Zone with soft lighting and sleep comforts, or use private spaces and prayer rooms for personal downtime before long‑haul flights.
The lounge’s ‘Made in Manchester’ dining concept adds a local twist to the premium experience. A live open kitchen prepares dishes à la minute, while a barista bar serves coffee finished with cocoa‑dust designs of the Manchester bee. A dedicated mixologist offers locally inspired cocktails, including the signature Made in Manchester blend of Vimto Summer, grenadine, lemonade and fresh strawberry.
The food menu spotlights regional suppliers with dishes such as Fleetwood marinated king prawns, oven‑baked Fleetwood sea bream, Wigan meat and potato pie, Shetland kippers, Lancashire smoked trout and Cheshire cheeses — all served alongside Emirates’ international menu and Moët & Chandon Champagne.
Manchester Airport’s Chief Commercial Officer Stephen Turner described the lounge as a “luxurious” and “innovative” addition that aligns with the airport’s £1.5bn transformation of Terminal 2, offering business travellers a world‑class experience from arrival to boarding.
With three daily Emirates services between Manchester and Dubai, the new lounge strengthens the airport’s role as a key hub for corporate travellers connecting to Asia, Africa and Australasia — and sets a new benchmark for premium pre‑flight environments in the UK.
