Finnair and IAG Loyalty have announced an expanded partnership allowing members of Finnair Plus and British Airways Executive Club to link their accounts and transfer Avios between them.
This development follows Finnair’s adoption of Avios as its loyalty currency on 9 March.
The Avios currency is also used by the loyalty programmes of Qatar Airways, Iberia, Vueling, and Aer Lingus. This integration provides Finnair Plus members with greater flexibility and access to a wider range of rewards across multiple airlines.
Members of the British Airways Executive Club can already link their accounts with Qatar Airways Privilege Club and Iberia Plus, further enhancing the interconnectedness of these loyalty programmes.
Finnair’s Chief Commercial Officer, Ole Orvér, commented, “This is a significant enhancement for our Finnair Plus members, offering them more opportunities to earn and redeem Avios across a broader network of airlines. The ability to transfer Avios seamlessly between accounts provides our members with greater flexibility and value.”
The new feature is seen as the next step in strengthening Finnair’s loyalty programme and providing its members with enhanced travel experiences. This move is expected to attract more frequent flyers to Finnair’s programme, benefiting from the extensive network of partner airlines under the IAG Loyalty umbrella.
