Harcourt Developments has announced a €20 million investment in its hotel portfolio, The Harcourt Collection. This collection includes the Titanic Hotel Belfast, Titanic Hotel Liverpool, Lough Eske Castle, Redcastle Hotel & Spa, and Carlisle Bay Antigua. Aspect Hotel Park West and Grand Central Bundoran are currently operated by third parties.
The investment will be rolled out in phases across the portfolio, with completion expected by late 2026. The first phase, launching this autumn, involves a multimillion-euro investment in Lough Eske Castle. This will introduce new suites and rooms designed to appeal to the American market, featuring local furnishings, artworks, and amenities.
Subsequent phases will see enhancements at the group’s hotels in Antigua, Liverpool, Belfast, and Redcastle. John Doherty, Group Creative Director at Harcourt Developments, highlighted the growth of their five-star hotels, Lough Eske Castle and Carlisle Bay, Antigua. He noted a trend towards guests seeking luxury experiences, often with family or friends, for longer stays, facilitated by hybrid working patterns.
Dónal Cox, General Manager at Lough Eske Castle, observed an increased demand for suites catering to multigenerational and celebratory stays. He emphasised the importance of providing luxurious accommodation, including four-poster beds, roll-top baths, and cosy fireplaces, while also offering bespoke experiences that showcase Donegal’s local crafts and produce.
