The InterContinental hotel in Singapore is introducing a unique “rain resist bliss” package, offering guests a free night’s stay if their trip is marred by excessive rain.
This initiative serves as a form of insurance for travellers considering a visit to the city-state, aiming to provide reassurance amid concerns about unpredictable weather conditions.
To qualify for this offer, guests must book one of the hotel’s suites, which range in price from £500 to £2,635 per night. Additionally, the rain must accumulate for a total of 120 minutes within any four-hour period during daylight hours, disrupting at least one planned activity for the guest.
Andreas Kraemer, the hotel’s general manager, conceived the idea as a means to attract high-spending clientele and elevate the luxury travel experience. He described the promotion as a guarantee of sunshine for discerning guests, aiming to set a new standard in luxury hospitality.
Upon meeting the criteria, guests will receive a voucher for a complimentary night’s stay, which must be redeemed within six months at the hotel. This initiative reflects the hotel’s commitment to providing exceptional service and addressing potential concerns about Singapore’s frequent rainfall, which averages 171 days annually due to its tropical climate.
The offer is particularly timely as November and December are noted as peak months for rainfall in Singapore, with an average of 19 rainy days each month.
