Debuting with the opening of Claridge House – Mayfair’s most sustainable serviced apartments
SLO, a new brand of sustainable aparthotel, makes its debut today with the launch of Claridge House. Designed for short breaks and longer stays alike, SLO brings the art of slow living to central London, combining thoughtful design, curated service, wellness-led rituals, and sustainability.
Set within a historic building on Davies Street in the heart of Mayfair, Claridge House comprises just eight one-, two- and three-bedroom fully serviced apartments. Each residence is a celebration of British makers, designed to feel restful, private, and quietly indulgent – a place to settle into, sleep well and explore London at a leisurely pace.
Crafted by British Makers
The interiors, led by SLO with consultancy from Ed Carter and London-based Kitesgrove, create a space of serene comfort, while championing long-life materials and local makers. A soothing colour palette sees botanical greens, rich terracotta, and cooling sea foam blend artfully with natural textiles, oak, and marble. Each apartment features mid-century-inspired furniture by British artisans including grain-matched fluted oak side tables by Robin Myerscough, sculptural dining tables from Galvin Brothers and Mythology Studio, bespoke mirrors from Chelsea Vivash, and side tables from Nicola Harding.
All apartments also include a fully equipped kitchen, expansive hosting areas, spacious living rooms, cosy reading nooks and, in some cases, a dedicated study.
Art, Atmosphere & Access
An art collection curated by Claire Mander highlights local artists such as Charlotte Morgan and Emily Wiles, with works chosen for their subtle textures and tonal harmony, quietly enhancing the airy, restful feel of each space.
Every stay is enriched with thoughtful wellness rituals designed to help guests unwind and settle in. Anatomé London provides relaxing scents and amenities, while Hypnos mattresses ensure a truly restorative night’s sleep. Morning and evening routines are accompanied by Nuditea teas, and coffee from Arro. Wooden board games, a bespoke SLO playlist, and a carefully curated book collection complete the experience.
A full-time concierge is on hand for exclusive access to the city, from private chefs and after-hours gallery visits to designer-led shopping tours and tickets for London’s premier cultural events, including Frieze London, Chelsea Flower Show, Wimbledon, and London Fashion Week.
A Carbon-Conscious Stay
Claridge House, a 1924 neo-Georgian building, underwent a deep retrofit by PDP Studio, winning the 2025 Architects’ Journal Retrofit & Reuse Award for Decarbonisation and Net Zero. Historic features were preserved, while modern innovations including air source heat pumps, photovoltaic panels, advanced cork- and aerogel-based insulation, and MVHR air purification cut energy use by 80% and CO₂ emissions by 93%. Interiors are crafted for longevity and repairability, while operational partners are chosen for their environmental credentials, embedding eco-conscious practices across every aspect of the guest experience.
SLO also turns sustainability into a personal experience for guests. Every stay at Claridge House is measured for its carbon footprint – including building operations, housekeeping, and food choices – using recognised standards such as the GHG Protocol and DEFRA factors. Guests receive a post-stay sustainability summary showing how their choices influenced their impact, and outstanding stays are recognised with a Digital Sustainable Stay Certificate, making environmental responsibility both visible and rewarding.
SLO’s Next Chapter
Claridge House is the first opening for SLO, with a second residence scheduled to launch on South Molton Street in autumn 2026, as the brand develops a small portfolio of sustainable design-led stays in London.#
Rates at SLO Claridge House start from £550 per night for a one-bedroom apartment – £2,250 per night for a three-bedroom apartment including all amenities and welcome hamper.
