IHG Hotels & Resorts has opened Kimpton Nine Trees Shanghai, introducing a new lifestyle‑led meetings and wellness hub in the fast‑developing Fengxian district.

The 229‑room property blends Kimpton’s social‑energy ethos with large‑format facilities designed to appeal to business travellers and event planners .

For the MICE market, the hotel offers more than 2,150 sqm of flexible event space, including the pillar‑free Bloom Ballroom, a 1,200 sqm venue suited to product launches, banquets and corporate celebrations alongside four multi‑function rooms for board meetings and private dinners. An adjoining outdoor lawn provides options for open‑air receptions and social gatherings.

Business travellers also gain access to a comprehensive wellness infrastructure. The EverNine Spa & Wellness complex spans 913 sqm and includes holistic treatment rooms, a 24‑hour fitness centre, heated indoor pool and outdoor plunge pool — positioning the hotel as a restorative base for travellers balancing work and wellbeing.

Dining is designed as a social anchor for networking and client entertainment. Mediterranean‑inspired SOLA & LUNA, the signature Chinese restaurant SONG, and lifestyle cocktail bar ECHO offer varied settings for business meals and evening engagements, with SONG expected to become a key venue for corporate hosting in Fengxian.

General Manager Thomas Schmitt‑Glaeser said the property aims to create “a new kind of urban escape” where design, art and social connection support both productivity and downtime for travellers.

Kimpton Nine Trees Shanghai becomes the brand’s second hotel in the city and adds a new option for companies seeking nature‑framed, wellness‑forward meeting environments within reach of South Shanghai’s growing business districts.
