Korean Air will no longer offer Shin Ramyun instant noodles to economy-class passengers, a favourite snack among travellers from 15th August, according to a spokesperson for the Seoul-based airline.

“This decision is part of proactive safety measures in response to increased turbulence, aimed at preventing burn accidents,” stated Korean Air.

Previously, the instant noodles were available at a self-serve bar for economy passengers on long-haul flights. However, in light of the new safety measures, the airline has revamped its snack options for economy class to include items like sandwiches, corn dogs, and hot pockets.

Business and first-class passengers will still have access to noodles, as they are individually served to these travellers, thereby reducing the risk of spills.
