As we close out 2025 and step into a new year of travel, one of Britain’s most iconic hospitality landmarks is preparing for a significant transformation.

Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, the celebrated Belmond hotel in Oxfordshire, will temporarily close in January 2026 to begin a landmark redevelopment, with reopening planned for summer 2027.

Founded in 1984 by Raymond Blanc OBE, Le Manoir has long been a benchmark for garden‑led gastronomy, holding two Michelin stars every year since opening. The upcoming redevelopment is designed to reinforce its position as a leading destination for culinary‑driven stays, blending heritage with sustainability and modern luxury.

The project will enhance guest accommodations, refresh the estate’s expansive gardens, and take the dining experience to new heights—all while staying true to the property’s “garden gastronomy” philosophy.

Looking ahead, Blanc called Le Manoir “the canvas of my life’s work,” emphasizing that the redevelopment is more than just a renovation—it’s a renewed commitment to sustainability, creativity, and the spirit of excellence that has shaped the hotel for over forty years.

As part of the transition, he will take on the role of Lifetime Ambassador, ensuring his vision continues to guide the property.

As 2026 begins, the redevelopment marks a significant moment for one of the UK’s most influential hospitality institutions—and a notable chapter for business travellers who value exceptional culinary‑driven stays and heritage‑rich properties.
