Lufthansa’s Miles & More credit card will be issued by Deutsche Bank from October 2025, offering upgraded benefits, seamless transition support, and continued rewards for frequent flyers and business travellers.
The move marks a strategic partnership between the German airline group and one of Europe’s leading financial institutions, promising enhanced benefits for cardholders—particularly frequent flyers and business travellers—without any increase in cost.
The transition, which will be rolled out gradually until spring 2026, aims to ensure a smooth experience for existing and new customers alike. Mastercard will continue as the payment network partner, maintaining the card’s global usability and security features.
According to Lufthansa, all existing benefits of the Miles & More credit card will remain intact, with several new services added to elevate the user experience. These include a refreshed card design, improved lifestyle perks, and a tailored welcome bonus for those switching to Deutsche Bank. Cardholders will also enjoy a fee-free first month post-transition, with additional miles and points awarded based on their card tier and frequent flyer status.
Dieter Vranckx, Chief Commercial Officer of the Lufthansa Group, commented: “This new chapter with Deutsche Bank allows us to offer our customers even greater value, combining trusted services with exciting innovations. It’s a strong partnership that reflects our commitment to rewarding loyalty.”
Dr Peter Robejsek, Managing Director of Mastercard Germany, also welcomed the collaboration: “The new Miles & More credit card delivers secure, convenient payments alongside exclusive travel and lifestyle experiences—perfectly suited to today’s business traveller.”
The transition will affect the entire Miles & More credit card portfolio in Germany, including the My Flex, Blue, and Gold cards, as well as premium offerings for Senators and HON Circle members. Business cards for self-employed professionals and corporate clients will also be migrated to Deutsche Bank.
Current cardholders are being contacted directly with details of the changeover. Frequent flyers will be prioritised, with tailored support and transition bonuses available. All users will be guided through the reapplication process, either online or in person, while existing DKB-issued cards will remain valid until the individual switch or cancellation.
For business travellers who rely on Miles & More for both rewards and seamless financial management, this transition represents a meaningful upgrade—combining trusted banking infrastructure with Lufthansa’s renowned loyalty programme to deliver a more rewarding journey, both in the air and on the ground.
